OPENING THE THIRD EYE

We went to a meeting to open third eye

Not knowing what to expect or apprise

Most attended at the last minute it seemed

As we were admitted into a new dream

A ceremony of Incense and the ways

Of the Tao and of ancient days

Back In the times long forgotten by men

Back In the ways of a subtler plan

In which treasurers were known of the spirit

When through study one could gradually merit

Opening that part of the body to soul

Which through the third eye is a possible goal

And coupled with chants not disclosed

Along with hand movements one could close

A link between self in the mundane

To spiritual self on a higher plane

And In the linkage receive assurance

That no matter the problem one can entrust

All to God and Its Infinite plan

All to that light which will expand

To envelope all in a oneness of love

As we discover below what is above

And thus we awaken to our higher self

Awaken to knowledge we had only felt

And watching the fire light our way

We felt a new stirring within our clay

Felt we were blessed to know a new truth

As we open to soul which rests in our booth

Called body-mind—a temporal being

Born spiritually blind but now which can see

Through the third eye long closed and dormant

Which will help find God's truth, and make us content
